20060117 Mandu

Situated at remote area, need several rides to reach this very small town Mandu, population <9000. Quiet and less developed compared to Orchha. People is friendly, no hassle at all, but accommodation and foods are basic simple. There are many ruins scattered around, free to access / visit except the Royal Enclave Group which comprised of the best historical structures in the area. It is good for photographing though not the best of what I've seen. The Baodi (step well) is something new to me. Maintenance was going on, probably the admission fees would hike soon. Kids like photographing, but expecting rewards. They are just Kids! It was a joyous trip to cycle around and see the local villages. Comparatively, the Rewa Kund Grp in the south was less impressive. I like Mandu, hassle free.
